Our objectives

Specifically dedicated to bacteria of food interest, the objective of the CIRM-BIA is to reflect the diversity of bacteria associated with fermented and biopreserved foods. It contains more than 4,000 strains and is regularly enriched by targeted collections in various biotopes. The strains are selected in such a way as to offer the greatest possible diversity from a taxonomic and functional point of view. The research activity supports innovation in the field of fermentation and biopreservation.
