BACTER-EV-BOOSTER

The BACTER-EV-BOOSTER Project celebrates its 2nd anniversary!

On November 17 and 18, STLO hosted the annual meeting of the BACTER-EV-BOOSTER project. This four-year project (2023-2026) is part of the PEPR BBTI (Biotherapies and Bioproduction of Innovative Therapies) program. Its goal is to offer a biotherapy based on therapeutic extracellular vesicles (EVs) as an alternative to live probiotics. STLO is actively participating in this research program by exploring the ability of the food bacterium Propionibacterium freudenreichii to produce therapeutic EVs. alimentaire Propionibacterium freudenreichii à produire des EVs thérapeutiques.

BACTER-EV-BOOSTER BACTER-EV-BOOSTER is an ANR France 2030 research program bringing together seven multidisciplinary partners from across France and is part of the PEPR BBTI (Biotherapies and Bioproduction of Innovative Therapies) program. The project is coordinated by Jean-Marc Chatel (INRAE, MICALIS) and Amanda Silva-Brun (CNRS MSC). The two-day meeting organized at STLO provided an opportunity to review the project's progress. Among the presenters, Juliana Laguna (Post-doc, team Microbio) and Éric Guédon head of Microbio Team of STLO) presented their work on the production, purification, and functions of Propionibacterium freudenreichii extracellular vesicles (EVs).
