Green Food Tech 2025

Green Food Tech 2025 is open !

Here comes the sun... and Green Food Tech! The Green Food Tech conference, organised by INAF, Université Laval du Québec, Université de Lille, and INRAE through the BioEcoAgro and STLO joint cross-border units, opened its doors on 9 April 2025 under a radiant, yet Malouin, sun! The conference will end on 11 April, still under the sun!

This event, the 4th of its kind and the 1st in Europe thanks to the initiative of Geneviève Gésan-Guiziou (STLO) and Sergey Mikhaylin (INAF), is being hosted at the Palais du Grand Large (Saint-Malo, Fr) by the local organising committee of UMR STLO led by Nathalie Le Marre and supported by Rozenn Ravallec (U. Lille), Renée Michaud and Catherine Fontaine-Lavallée (INAF). It brings together nearly 160 participants from academia and industry from 25 countries, including many young scientists, to discuss the challenges of sustainable food processing, the production of new, healthy and nutritious foods and ingredients, and the reduction of losses and waste.

With 35 oral presentations, 44 flash presentations and 65 posters, Les horizons du grand large is set to offer a very rich programme!

Day 1

Emerging tools and technologies, such as the capitalisation and re-use of data for predictive or expert purposes, were in the spotlight on the morning of 9 April, while the afternoon featured numerous examples of successful bio-waste recovery.

Day 2

Solar energy and Quebecois enthusiasm continue to energise this international scientific meeting dedicated to the design and emergence of sustainable food systems. Today's sessions looked at new processing technologies and examined the concepts of circularity, locality and efficiency. Multicriteria evaluation has its place here, as demonstrated by the work presented by Manon Perrignon (doctoral student at STLO, PSF team) and Juliane Floury (PSF team) this morning. The Emerald Coast is definitely “green”!
