Multi-Criteria Evaluation network

INRAE's Multi-Criteria Evaluation network is up and running!

Following the working group on Multi-Criteria Evaluation of Food and Agri-Food Systems led by Geneviève Gésan-Guiziou since 2016, the Multi-Criteria Evaluation network has just been launched at INRAE!

Making a decision or ranking choices most often involves arbitrating between several objectives, each reflected by a quantitative (e.g. a measurement) or qualitative criterion (e.g. a modality). By allowing “apples and oranges” to be compared, and by listening to all points of view, multi-criteria evaluation aims to propose one or more compromises backed up by a consensual method.

On December 3 and 4, some forty scientists from INRAE and associated units met to define the network's scientific orientations and operating procedures.

Exchanges were extremely enriching, and the scientific questions that the network wishes to address are numerous, revolving around the integration in Multi-Criteria Evaluation of:

▶️ changes in spatial and organizational scales

▶️ the notion of dynamics and time

▶️ issues of risk and uncertainty

▶️ and stakeholders' voices

Anyone from INRAE and associated units can join the network, so don't hesitate!

Many thanks to INRAE's Food and Bioeconomy Division for its support!
