STLO at the Science Festival with schoolchildren from Thorigné Fouillard

15th edition of the science festival: STLO shares its science with schoolchildren from Thorigné Fouillard!

For this 15th edition of the science festival, 10 scientists from STLO went to meet CM2 classes from Thorigné-Fouillard public elementary school “les grands prés verts” on October 4, 2024.

"What is a bacterium?", "How is butter made?", "What is milk made of?"... These were just some of the questions that piqued the interest of pupils at Thorigné Fouillard public elementary school during this day.

Over the course of the day, three classes of CM2 had the opportunity to discover the workshops offered by UMR STLO scientists and learn more about milk and dairy products. The children were able to talk to the scientists about milk, yogurt, cheese, cream and butter production, as well as the bacteria used to make some of these products.

The activities proposed by the STLO scientists provided a fun approach to science and dairy products, and the children were able to manipulate various instruments, such as microscopes, pipettes and vortexes, much to their delight. Enough to inspire future generations!
